On your wedding day, we make sure we capture the finer details as well as candid moments as they happen.
We are Clint and Mareike, a husband and wife photography team based on the beautiful
Central Coast, NSW.
Our approach is relaxed yet professional, with focus on making you feel comfortable in front of our camera and allowing you to be yourself. It's all about you and your unique love story, so have fun and enjoy your wedding day, whilst we ensure you have beautiful photos to remember it by.
OUR STORY
Our love story started in 2004 in small town in Canada, when we met in front of a restaurant called Cats Meow. Australian boy meets German girl, both travelling in opposite directions, when our worlds collided. One thing that brings us together is our love for travelling. We love the Alps and beaches, Italian Pizza and a good coffee. In late 2016 we tied the knot, in a small beach town on the NSW Central Coast, which has been our family home since 2012.
A little fact about us: our daughter is a massive cat lover and would rescue hundreds of them if she could. Neither of us were cat people, but our daughter is crazy for them. Do you think it’s a coincidence that we met in front of a restaurant called Cats Meow? Full circle, we’d say!
A few months after our wedding we took the plunge and started our own wedding photography business, after years of Clint just enjoying his passion for photography as a hobby. Smithers Photography was born, probably our third biggest commitment together. We are a married couple that also works together, so finding the balance between work and family time isn’t always easy, but so worth it. In 2020, right before the world shut down because of a certain pandemic, Smithers Photography went from a side gig to a full time profession. What a ride it’s been, although we couldn’t ask for a better and more rewarding job. We love what we do and feel so privileged to be part of so many people’s special day.

Smithers Photography will document your day in the most non-intrusive way possible. Don’t focus on our cameras, just enjoy your day!
As photographers, we love our couples to be themselves – if you are relaxed and have fun it will shine through in your images. We don’t expect you to be models, just be the couple in love that you are!
Being introverts ourselves, we understand only too well that not everyone loves to be the centre of attention or have a camera pointed at them. We will guide you during the getting ready preparations and your bridal shoot, but prefer to document the rest of the day as it happens naturally. That’s when most of the magic happens! You will look back your photos and be instantly reminded of those moments. Photographs are some of the very few things that will stay with you after your wedding day, and Smithers Photography love preserving those memories for our couples.
