intimate Ceremony on a private jetty Who says weddings have to be big? It doesn’t matter whether you have 100 guests or just a handful – it’s about what these people mean to you. We see it as a big privilege to witness the special bond between a couple, and there is no rule (apart from the two witnesses you need, to make the marriage legal) and right or wrong. The wedding day is about you as a couple – your love and connection – and having those people around you that love and support you. And if those meaningful guests know how to have a good time it’s definitely a bonus! Lisa and Shane had originally planned a bigger wedding at another location, but Lisa decided that it wasn’t really for them – they preferred a relaxed and casual atmosphere and chose to have their wedding at Lisa’s daughter’s house instead. Located right on the waterfront, the property set a beautiful backdrop, and having their big day at a familiar location eased Lisa’s nerves immensely. It simply felt like a family get-together. The private jetty was the perfect spot to have their ceremony. Lisa walked down the jetty towards Shane, preceeded by their sons and daughter. While Lisa was walking down the aisle, a song sung by one of her sons was played, such a sweet and special moment. Seeing how much love Lisa and Shane share, after many years as a couple together was really beautiful. They were so excited about their wedding day, and their chemistry was through the roof! Constantly touching, giggling and cuddling, it was clear to see that they had managed to keep that spark alive. Watching on were just their closest family and friends, who certainly knew how to enjoy themselves. There was so much banter, infectious laughter and love. We are so glad we got to capture those special moments. It really didn’t feel like work! We have no doubt that the real party only just got going when we wrapped up.

COURTNEY & KEITH – LINTON GARDENS WEDDING, NSW

IN AMONGST THE PATHS AND PLANTS Courtney and Keith met when they were just 16, and simply clicked. Most relationships that start so young are not meant to last, but these two never looked back. They literally grew up together, which made their bond even stronger. When we asked them what they love about each other the most their answer was: “We still make the time and effort every day to make each other feel loved and special in little ways.” On their wedding day, that love was shining through their every pore. Both were so excited, nervous and just smiling constantly during their preparations. When the reality set in that their wedding day had finally arrived, Courtney couldn’t hold back the happy tears, which kept flowing when the rest of her family laid eyes on her as a beautiful bride. We loved seeing how invested their families are: how happy, they are for them and supportive of their love, fully embracing them both. Tears kept coming during their ceremony, and this time it was the groom that was moved to tears during his vows. It’s such a special moment witnessing the raw emotions the wedding day can bring. Courtney was moved by Keith’s tears, but quickly made Keith and everyone laugh again with her comment: “I told you to get the tears out of the way earlier! See, I cried all morning – now I’m fine!” For their bridal photos we used the grounds of their wedding venue. It is definitely a big advantage having everything in one spot – getting ready, ceremony and reception. No traveling in between locations means more time with the guests, more time for photos and in general makes things easier. The lush greens of the gardens created a beautiful backdrop, and we found some nice variety in locations and shots. Their wedding guest list may have been on the smaller side – Courtney and Keith preferred an intimate atmosphere – but the crowd they chose to be there with them sure knew how to party! The laughter and good vibes flowed into the night, with the popular show game having everyone involved in guessing the answers, not just bride and groom. Their speeches brought out more laughter and happy tears. Only Courtney’s nan, the rock of the family, refused to let the tears flow, despite the bride asking her to show her true emotions. Instead she said: “I’m so happy for you, but I won’t shed a tear today, not until I have a quiet moment on my own.” We absolutely loved being part of this couple’s day – seeing their bond and love so strong makes us feel confident that they will have a bright future together, building on their dreams of their own home and starting a family together.
